Scratch Theremin
Scratch Theremin, Interspecies audio performance, 2011-14
co-creation with Tom
For Scratch Theremin, I worked with Tom to create a custom theremin for improvisational interspecies sound performance. The theremin incorporates a rug as a pitch antenna interface for Tom to use as a scratching surface. Tom accompanies his strumming with a diverse range of vocalizations. Tom did not like live performance but agreed to make studio recordings to use in performances.
